‘Under the Microscope’ was inspired by the landscape of moss that grows in the walls and cracks of the urban scenery around Edinburgh. Upon examining species of moss and fungi under a micro- scope Isabel found beauty in their spherical forms and detailed textures. Her use of the ancient technique granulation is an integral part of her practise, adding a material value and an intimate experience for the wearer as the technique requires a deep understanding of the materials and processes.
